Three Reasons Why Fall Is a Good Time for an A/C Tune-Up
Cooler weather has arrived here in the Hudson Valley, and more is sure to follow – which means that soon it will be time to retire your beloved air conditioner for the season.
But before your A/C starts catching some ZZZs, you might consider giving it a little TLC.
Why get an air conditioning tune-up in the fall rather than in the spring? Here are three good reasons:
- You’ll enjoy the benefits of a tune-up from day one of cooling season – If you get your annual A/C tune-up now, your central air or ductless cooling system will be operating at peak efficiency the first day you use it – not a month after the first heat wave makes reach for the “cool” button on your thermostat.
- You’ll avoid cold weather problems – If some parts of your A/C are worn out after a long summer’s use – or if you have a refrigerant leak – sitting idle through a long Hudson Valley winter will only make the problem worse. By calibrating and cleaning your system before the cold weather sets in, your equipment will be prepped for hibernation.
- You’ll avoid the crowds – Scheduling a service appointment is much easier during this “shoulder” season, when fewer air conditioners and heating systems are in use and less service is needed. In fact, now is a great time to schedule maintenance for your heating system AND your cooling system.
The bottom line: Getting your preventive maintenance out of the way now gives you one less thing to think about when springtime comes around. We don’t know about you, but we’re all about having fewer headaches these days.
